Resident Notice – CCTV Camera Update

Upchurch Parish Council would like to update residents regarding the recent appearance of CCTV cameras in the village.
The Parish Council was not informed in advance about the installation of these cameras, but following enquiries, we can confirm they have been put in place as part of a traffic management survey being conducted on behalf of Croudace Homes.
We would like to make residents aware that no permission was sought or granted for a camera to be installed on the Village sign. As a result, this camera has been removed today by order of the Parish Council.
The remaining cameras have been mounted on lamp posts owned by Kent County Council (KCC), and we have been informed that appropriate permission was granted by KCC for this. Upchurch Parish Council is currently investigating this further with KCC to clarify the situation.
We have been advised that all of the cameras will be removed tomorrow, 1 May 2025.
Any further updates we receive will be promptly shared with residents.
