UPC Community Awards

Upchurch Community Award 2026

We are delighted to announce that the Upchurch Community Award for 2026 has been presented to David (Dave) Candy.

Members of UPC voted and unanimously agreed that this year’s award should recognise Dave’s exceptional and longstanding commitment to the village. The Certificate of Recognition was formally presented by Cllr Lewin, honouring his outstanding contributions to the Upchurch community.

For over 35 years, Dave has shown unwavering dedication to local life. His achievements include founding the Upchurch Players and editing The Gabriel Village Magazine, both of which have played a vital role in fostering community spirit, encouraging participation, and keeping residents connected.

Dave’s tireless efforts and passion have made a lasting impact on Upchurch, and this award is a fitting recognition of his service.
